About the Role
The Team Leader, Finance oversees the budgeting, analysis, and forecasting for Eversource, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor direct reports (2+ FTEs).
- Guide direct reports through challenging situations and support their success.
- Develop team capabilities through training and cross-training.
- Provide direction and oversight to team members.
- Promote a positive, professional, collaborative, and efficient work environment.
- Develop all budget and long-range plan support.
- Provide financial support and lead various financial projects.
- Collaborate with key business areas.
- Manage critical path schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Set work group direction by developing actionable plans with staff.
- Oversee work organization and planning.
- Ensure efficient use of resources.
- Ensure projects align with Finance and Eversource goals.
- Administer approved Company policies and procedures for Finance functions.
- Develop and implement procedures related to Finance activities.
- Assist with the development and administration of the department’s operating budget.
- Develop and oversee financial analysis to support filings ethically.
- Provide financial support and consultation to Business Managers on strategic initiatives.
- Respond to emergency situations as part of the employee role, potentially involving Emergency Restoration assignments outside of normal duties.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of finance, utility accounting, and regulation.
- Experience in regulatory financial concepts such as revenue requirements and rate making theory is desirable.
- Financial modeling experience is desirable.
- Aptitude to draw sound business conclusions, act decisively, and drive business results.
- Ability to effectively direct multiple and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic mindset; ability to see the big picture and provide effective direction.
- Focus on innovation; continually and consistently challenge the status quo.
- Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed or should the policy change.
