About the Role

The successful candidate will preserve the good condition and functionality of premises, performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as painting, building/machinery repairs, and landscaping. The goal is to maintain buildings and common areas in the best possible condition while observing all health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, assist with new electrical installations, etc.)
• Preventive maintenance on heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
• General upkeep procedures (e.g., landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)
• Input in budget preparation and ensuring it is followed
• Operation of forklift throughout the facility performing waste management duties
• Writing and following work instructions for preventive maintenance throughout the facility
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
• Reporting all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
• Reporting any unsafe conditions identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
• Complying with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements
• Wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Keeping their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
• Attending all CAF USA required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
• Not operating any CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so

Requirements

• Two or more years of related experience
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
