About the Role
Brookfield Wealth Solutions is seeking a professional to support senior team members in structuring private investments for an insurance balance sheet. This role involves preparing analyses, participating in rating agency calls, exploring novel structures, and working with legal counsel on transaction documentation. The position also requires building and maintaining cash flow models, analyzing rating agency methodologies, screening investment opportunities, and conducting market research.
Responsibilities
- Support senior team members in structuring private investments for an insurance balance sheet.
- Prepare analyses that inform structural decisions.
- Participate in rating agency calls and track methodology changes.
- Explore novel or bespoke structures for new and existing asset classes.
- Work with legal counsel to draft, review, and mark up transaction documentation.
- Coordinate with internal tax, legal, and accounting teams.
- Build and maintain detailed cash flow and waterfall models for private asset-based transactions.
- Collaborate with asset management and analytics teams to keep cash flow models current.
- Analyze rating agency methodologies and regulatory capital treatment.
- Screen potential investment opportunities, assessing fit against investment strategy.
- Support due diligence on opportunities, including collateral-level data analysis.
- Prepare investment committee memos and screening materials.
- Monitor existing portfolio investments, tracking performance and flagging risks.
- Conduct market and sector research to inform investment decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in reading/analyzing documentation of CLO or ABS securitizations, warehouse, and asset-backed financings.
- Experience in multiple asset classes is a plus.
- Exposure to rating agency processes and securitization methodologies.
- Direct rating agency interaction is a plus.
- Knowledge or familiarity with insurance investment management is a plus.
- Proactive self-starter with high attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and motivation.
- Ability to work concurrently across multiple live transactions and asset classes.
- Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
