About the Role
The Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team, assisting in planning and initiating learning activities for Head Start children aged 3-5. This role supports the teacher in managing the classroom environment, supervising children, and potentially assisting with planning and record-keeping. This is a 10-month position from August to June.
Responsibilities
- Helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years.
- Assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities.
- Assists the teacher in maintaining the classroom environment.
- Assists the teacher in supervising children.
- May assist in planning and record keeping.
- Performs other classroom-related duties.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to work at any center regardless of location.
- Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and insured automobile.
- Must obtain a physical and TB skin test.
- Must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify.
Skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Experience Level
- Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferred
Education Level
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
- Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
