About the Role
As a Massage Therapist, your developed skills and exceptional customer service provide relief, comfort, and important education to clients. This position is responsible for developing a full-capacity practice, providing educational venues for Clifton Springs Hospital & clinic staff, community, and assisting other professional staff within The Springs.
Responsibilities
- Provide massage therapy (Swedish, Deep Tissue and Signature), hydrotherapy and other bodywork treatments for clients.
- Assist in poultices and other special treatments.
- Demonstrate evaluation skills, palpation accuracy and recognize contraindications to treatment.
- Assist with educational programs for hospital staff and community.
- Participate in research projects.
- Write articles both in concert with other practitioners and alone.
- Perform Spa Attendant duties as assigned (housekeeping, maintaining supplies, assisting other practitioners with rooming, etc.).
Requirements
- Successful completion of NYS-recognized massage school.
- NYS licensure as a massage therapist.
- Compassionate, kind, and patient-focused.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
