About the Role

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for preventative maintenance and assisting in the repairs of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems to ensure the safety and dependability of the equipment and facility. This role requires basic technical knowledge with an eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on production equipment and facilities.
  • Records maintenance and repairs within CMMS system.
  • Assists in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of maintenance spare parts and supplies.
  • Maintains lock-out-tag-out and SDS information for maintenance department.
  • Provides workplace safety and security.
  • Assists in developing and implementing maintenance procedures and techniques for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • Analytical ability with a high focus on safety and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
  • Basic math and computer skills required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; and loud sounds.
  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; vibration; and high levels dust.
  • Frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.
  • Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather); and work with explosives.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
  • Employment subject to drug test and background check.
