About the Role
The Lead Maintenance HVAC Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of all HVAC systems on residential and commercial spaces owned by Foundation Communities. This position will install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems across multiple properties and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Work on HVAC systems including VRF, RTU, Split AC furnaces, Split AC electrics, Split heat pumps, PTAC units, and mini splits.
- Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Perform or coordinate emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Oversee HVAC preventive maintenance.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to onsite maintenance staff.
- Ensure daily logs and records of all maintenance functions are recorded.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Assist and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all HVAC equipment and components.
- Complete and close out Work Orders in the upkeep/smart sheet or other application, and enter time worked and materials used.
- Attend HVAC owner training on new properties.
- Work with development on new design and construction.
- Complete all required training courses and obtain any required certifications.
- Perform other tasks and additional duties as assigned.
- Be available for after-hours phone calls for emergency HVAC maintenance.
- Assist in other maintenance-related duties such as plumbing and electrical.
- Work on various locations to provide extra maintenance support during slow HVAC repair season.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of practical experience on Residential and commercial HVAC systems.
- Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants (EPA).
- Must be able to work with VRF, RTU, Split AC furnaces, Split AC electrics, Split heat pumps, PTAC units, and mini splits.
- State licensing for HVAC technician (Preferred).
- Must complete all required training courses and obtain any required certifications.
