About the Role

McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Shipper to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success. This role involves moving materials within the plant, unloading incoming materials, and periodic use of a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Independently use proper equipment to move materials within the plant.
  • Unload incoming materials from outside carriers.
  • Periodically use a forklift as directed.
  • Work regularly scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends if scheduled.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Use forklifts periodically to move materials around the building.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack properly and safely after provided training.
  • Work in all material handling areas/functions.
  • Use inventory/ERP systems for material transactions and inventory tracking.
  • Learn repetitive tasks quickly.
  • Read and comprehend Bill of Materials.
  • Be proactive in continuous improvement.
  • Operate Company software using basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of material handling/forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment required.
  • Experience using ERP/inventory systems such as PLEX preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting shipping/receiving, inventory control, material flow and product support preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to be proactive in continuous improvement.
  • Basic computer skills to operate Company software.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Will not impose on self or others as a direct threat to health or safety.
