About the Role
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys research, organization, and collaborating with attorneys to ensure conflicts-of-interest procedures are completed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary reviews of new matter conflict reports to identify potential conflicts of interest
- Ensure conflicts searches are complete, accurate, and consistent with firm procedures
- Communicate with attorneys and staff regarding conflicts requests, updates, and follow-ups
- Assist with client and matter creation within the firm’s conflicts and new business intake systems
- Compile and organize documentation related to new client and matter intake
- Review intake forms, engagement letters, waivers, billing details, and retainers to confirm required information is complete
- Maintain internal conflicts tracking tools and related documentation
- Handle sensitive client and matter information with discretion
- Work with department colleagues and attorneys to resolve conflicts questions when they arise
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives as needed
Requirements
- Prior law firm experience or experience with conflicts/new business intake systems is a plus
- Professional and collaborative approach when working with attorneys, staff, and firm leadership
- Careful attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and internal database systems
