About the Role

Adams is seeking a Basket Designer to create beautifully arranged, high-quality gift baskets that meet customer specifications, maintaining fresh and appealing displays, and offering knowledgeable, friendly assistance to help customers choose or customize baskets for any occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable assistance; greet customers personally and thank them for shopping at Adams.
  • Produce Adams signature baskets and design custom baskets, ensuring color coordination, neatness, and balance; create fruit bouquets if applicable.
  • Keep displays stocked with an attractive array of baskets and maintain back-stock for holidays; assist with merchandising and fill self-serve bins as needed.
  • Take and price customer and corporate orders in person or by phone, suggest options for various occasions, and ensure all orders are completed on time for delivery.
  • Track inventory, order supplies with manager approval, & inform manager when stock is running low.
  • Maintain product freshness by rotating stock, checking quality, and performing final quality control checks for packaging, sell-by dates, and presentation.
  • Keep all areas of the department clean, organized, & well-stocked; receive & check deliveries for accuracy.
  • If assigned, train or supervise associates and assist with related tasks such as making dipped chocolates, specialty drinks, or gift baskets.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Safely use any tools, hot air device, knives and all other tools and equipment necessary
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
  • Communicate with others to exchange information
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks including in tight and confined spaces

Skills

  • Knowledge on how to create custom baskets
  • Excellent customer service skills on the phone and/or in-person
  • Knowledge of all sweet shop products and offers
  • Ability to operate Adams’ point of sale systems
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality
  • Ability to demonstrate and set the example for Adams’ culture and values
