About the Role
Cogent is seeking a Senior+ Infrastructure Engineer to establish a secure, reliable, and cost-effective foundation for its products and services. This high-ownership, early-stage role involves working within a Core Platform pod, focusing on the data platform, security systems, and agent infrastructure to protect the company, customers, and employees from threats.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize the data platform, focusing on storage optimizations for Clickhouse and Postgres.
- Enable on-premise product deployment to onboard large customers and secure seven-figure accounts.
- Harden security systems.
- Develop an agent-first infrastructure and platform layer to support product development by agents.
- Manage large-scale infrastructure projects from initiation to completion across various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of software engineering experience with deep core infrastructure expertise.
- Strong hands-on coding skills.
- Hands-on AWS experience.
- Experience with Clickhouse Cloud at the serving layer.
- Significant experience with Spark and micro-batching.
- Proven track record of driving large-scale projects across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience building in an AI-forward capacity with agentic coding fundamentals.
- Startup or early-stage background (up to ~200 people), ideally with large-company experience.
