About the Role

Operates one or more types of heavy equipment at the Transfer Station for the purpose of transferring and loading materials efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the facility according to scheduled hours of operation.
• Oversees the schedule of truck dumping and trailer switching.
• Ensures public areas of the transfer station are clean at all times, following cleaning schedules.
• Ensures customers adhere to all safety rules and regulations when using the transfer station.
• Meets loading schedules to ensure driver loads are ready for production.
• Directs incoming trucks and vehicles to appropriate unloading areas safely.
• Follows all safety and equipment checks and precautions during duties.
• Reports any mechanical problems identified during inspections or functions to the shop foreman immediately.
• Participates in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge.
• Performs other duties as needed to support company vision, mission, and core values.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Legally eligible to work in the US.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of prior experience in heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Proven commitment to work and safety.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
