About the Role
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated Interventional Radiologist APP to join their patient-centered radiology team. This role offers the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of interventional radiology in a collaborative environment at a new, state-of-the-art hospital. The candidate will interpret health data to provide exemplary patient care, working within a collegial environment with strong clinical support.
Responsibilities
- Performs physical exams on all patients.
- Obtains and documents patient's medical history and identifies health risk factors.
- Obtains informed consent.
- Documents assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care in the patient record.
- Documents all findings, interventions, and results.
- Performs interventional radiology procedures within scope of license and as designated by MVHS Medical Committee and department Radiologist.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, including laboratory work, x-rays, and EKG.
- Identifies situations beyond their expertise or scope of practice and refers to the appropriate Radiologist.
- Applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice.
- Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health team to plan optimal patient care.
- Responds appropriately in emergency situations, applying sound judgment and skill.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provides age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
- Stays current with medical advancements, new technology, and new drugs through continuing education.
- Prescribes medications per state laws.
- Prescribes non-pharmacological therapies based on patient diagnoses, health history, and age.
- Follows the five medication rights to reduce the potential for medication errors.
- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Attends all departmental, organizational, and medical staff committee meetings, and medical imaging activities as appropriate.
- Maintains appropriate privileges.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital privileges.
- Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
- Familiar with EHR/EMR software.
- Successful candidates might be required to undergo a background verification with an external vendor.

Education Level
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty (Preferred)
Salary/Compensations
- 130,000-155,000
