About the Role

Support the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) design team in delivering on-time design submissions. Work closely with cross-functional teams, assist in developing concept/basic design documentation, and contribute to the creation of a 3D model library for OCS designs. Specifically, support the OCS structural design team with mechanical calculations and liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the OCS design team to meet on-time design submission goals
  • Develop Basic and Detailed design documents under scope
  • Provide support on OCS topics to System Engineering and BIM teams
  • Respect Engineering Management, Design Quality, and Interface Management plans
  • Ensure compliance with normative references and local standards
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across locations (Toronto, France, Italy) and departments
  • Undertake 3D modelling activities to support OCS design development

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of Canadian standards and common practices
  • First understanding of Railway Electrification subsystems
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk software and other modelling tools
  • A desire to pursue a Professional Engineer designation (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
  • Fluency in English (a second language is appreciated)
