About the Role

Support the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) design team in delivering on-time design submissions. Work closely with cross-functional teams, assist in developing concept/basic design documentation, and contribute to the creation of a 3D model library for OCS designs. Specifically, support the OCS structural design team with mechanical calculations and liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

Support the OCS design team to meet on-time design submission goals
Develop Basic and Detailed design documents under scope
Provide support on OCS topics to System Engineering and BIM teams
Respect Engineering Management, Design Quality, and Interface Management plans
Ensure compliance with normative references and local standards
Coordinate with stakeholders across locations (Toronto, France, Italy) and departments
Undertake 3D modelling activities to support OCS design development

Requirements

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
Knowledge of Canadian standards and common practices
First understanding of Railway Electrification subsystems
Familiarity with AutoDesk software and other modelling tools
A desire to pursue a Professional Engineer designation (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
Fluency in English (a second language is appreciated)
