About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist manages all human resource functions for assigned locations, including recruitment, new hire processing, and benefits enrollment. This role serves as the primary employee contact for employment-related issues at the station.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Makes all hiring decisions for the stations.
  • Creates and maintains a thorough recruiting network to generate qualified applicants.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Develops recruitment strategies in conjunction with station manager to achieve required staffing levels.
  • Makes presentations to potential applicants at career expos, job fairs, and other venues.
  • Interviews and selects qualified applicants while managing the background verification and new hire orientation process.
  • Conducts wage and benefits surveys and researches local regulatory requirements.
  • Interacts with employee groups to identify issues affecting recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Maintains local personnel files and audits records for compliance.
  • Acts as an authorized signatory for AGI, controlling the application of badging for new hires and rebadging for current staff.
  • Assists with administrative duties including employee payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and various reports when not performing critical human resource functions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to interact professionally with team members and customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting operations functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes an extensive employment, criminal record, and residence background check.
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others.
  • Cooperate with management to comply with legal requirements.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company-provided resources for health, wellbeing, safety, and security.
  • Inform management of any serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided.
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend training courses as required by AGI.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules which may be adjusted to meet operational demands.
  • Applicants must be able to work on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and holidays.
  • Strict adherence to company attendance policies is expected and enforced.
