About the Role
Provides pharmacy services and ensures the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders. This role offers a unique opportunity to build pharmaceutical skills, explore educational/professional development initiatives, and make a difference in patients' lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
- Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
Requirements
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
- Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Normal or corrected vision required.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Compliance with influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or approved exemption.
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology).
