About the Role

As a Pastoral Manager, you will lead your team in meeting the emotional needs of young people with complex emotional and behavioral challenges, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Your role involves applying high standards of care, working with families, developing individual programs, and creating a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in enabling your team to meet young people's emotional needs.
  • Ensure young people receive the support they need by applying high standards of care.
  • Work with families to develop programs for each individual young person.
  • Create a positive learning environment through careful assessment and planning.
  • Support and resolve difficulties for young people with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH.
  • Engage in multi-agency work, understanding safeguarding and child protection legislation, policies, and guidance.
  • Conduct staff appraisals, performance management, and supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH pupils.
  • Experience working with families in challenging circumstances.
  • Expertise to support and resolve difficulties.
  • Experience of multi-agency work.
  • Understanding of legislation, policies, and guidance around safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience of staff appraisal/performance management and supervision.
