About the Role

The Fleet Parts Technician supports the daily operations of the Fleet Department by managing parts inventory, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring mechanics have the necessary equipment and materials to maintain fleet readiness. This position plays a key role in inventory control, documentation, and maintaining an organized and efficient shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, catalog, and organize incoming parts and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure appropriate stock levels.
• Source and procure parts, equipment, and shop supplies from multiple vendors.
• Track parts orders and follow up on deliveries to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Audit work orders for accurate documentation and proper parts allocation.
• Assist mechanics by locating and distributing required parts and materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts room and shop workspace.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
• Coordinate warranty returns, core returns, and defective parts processing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding inventory management and purchasing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Fleet Management.

Requirements

• Experience in an automotive, fleet maintenance, or parts department preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, tools, and fleet maintenance practices is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Ability to lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
