The Assistant Branch Manager contributes to branch success by overseeing operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies, and demonstrating effective leadership. Responsibilities

- Act as the lead supervisor when the Branch Manager is not present.
- Build strong relationships with all teammates.
- Create a positive, inclusive work environment where all employees feel engaged and valued.
- Effectively recruit, hire, and onboard new employees.
- Transfer learning to the team through direct development or leveraging training opportunities.
- Lead coaching and career development conversations with direct reports.
- Oversee observations, documented coaching conversations, development plans, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Identify high potential employees and create career development plans and succession planning.
- Identify trends through daily observations and member surveys to create and implement action plans.
- De-escalate heightened member situations.
- Provide support and guidance to supervisors for de-escalation.
- Develop teammates to provide exceptional member experiences.
- Strengthen the team's ability to communicate with members.
- Contribute to the management of branch traffic flow with lobby management.
- Manage branch scheduling, lobby tracking, and appointment assignments.
- Assist to ensure teller and drive-up traffic are managed with limited wait times.
- Maintain branch controls, including self-audits, reconciliations, daily proof, daily reports, currency verification, and balancing cash.
- Stay abreast and adhere to policies, procedures, and banking regulations.
- Identify and manage emerging risks and fraud trends.
- Comply with Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations.
- Participate in the overall success of the branch by meeting or exceeding performance goals.
- Create, implement, and manage strategies.
- Analyze branch production reports and activities to identify opportunities.
- Support promotions and business development efforts.
- Participate in community events and business organizations.
Requirements
- College degree preferred or related work experience.
- 3+ years of financial or equivalent sales and service experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory and leadership experience.
- 3-5 years of credit or lending experience.
- Medallion Signature Guarantor Certification within 3 months.
- National Mortgage Licensing System License within 3 months.
- NYS Notary License within 6 months.
- PC, Windows, and Internet proficiency.
- High emotional intelligence.
