About the Role

The Material Handler in the Finishing Department supports Flower City's profitability by performing duties with the highest level of efficiency, playing a critical role in department operations and ensuring high productivity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver raw materials to, and remove finished products/scrap from, machine workstations to maintain continuous operations.
• Aid machine operators in loading, setting up, and preparing materials for production, including banding or packaging finished components.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to transport materials between storage, production areas, and loading docks.
• Maintain cooperative working relationship with supervisor.
• Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
• Consistently show ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
• Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision.
• Recognize and perform duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing setting
• Packaging experience highly preferred
• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to eight hours per day.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
• Ability to regularly talk and/or hear, see, and perform repetitive motion.
• Ability to see color and use depth perception.
