About the Role

The Director of Quality provides strategic and operational quality leadership across all aspects of the business, from design to manufacturing and customer support within a regulated aerospace and defense electronics manufacturing environment. This position has full accountability for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, MIL Perf 38534, and customer/industry specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and continually improve the AS9100D (IA9100)-compliant QMS across all business functions, ensuring customer and industry specific requirements such as Mil Perf 38534 are addressed.
  • Ensure the QMS is maintained in accordance with all changes in standards and regulations.
  • Act as the central point for all audits, ensuring all audit findings are addressed with robust corrective actions and appropriate timescales.
  • Co-ordinate resolution to customer issues across multiple functions, including design, program management, process engineering, and supply chain.
  • Ensure appropriate communication of sensitive customer issues to senior leadership.
  • Identify and drive Quality KPI’s in accordance with business objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and act as site champion for corporate continuous improvement initiatives, driving scrap and yield metrics whilst developing a pipeline of core tool SMEs.
  • Drive Quality team bench strength using talent assessment to provide career development, focusing on core quality tools, industry requirements such as IPC/IA9100/IA9145/Mil Perf 38534 and data analytics.
  • Drive supplier quality to reduce the impact of supply chain on manufacturing quality and lead times.
  • Develop suppliers using an APQP approach to continually improve their process capability and compliance whilst reducing cost.
  • Participate and engage with all functions as a member of the site senior management team to drive a people-centric quality culture.
  • Perform special assignments as needed.
  • Comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC.

Requirements

  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC.
  • Be able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
  • Recognize Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
  • Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
  • Understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
  • Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.

Skills

  • Thorough understanding of micro electronics/microwave processes and process controls
  • IPC certification and knowledge of relevant requirements
  • AS9100/ISO9001/IATF TS16949 experience
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
