About the Role

We are looking for a PRT Pricing Actuary to join our Defined Benefits Solutions team. This role involves managing in-force bulk annuity transactions, leading cashflow modelling and pricing activities, and delivering complex post-transaction projects. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity to help shape better retirements across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Pricing Managers on the ongoing management of Pension Risk Transfer transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on data cleanses, GMP equalisation implementation, and transition to buyout.
  • Lead the production of cash flow and pricing models for PRTs, ensuring robust controls and processes.
  • Navigate complexities and non-standard requests, driving solution development.
  • Develop, coach, and train junior team members.
  • Lead project management to meet key contractual requirements and timescales.
  • Build, develop, document, run, and maintain actuarial models.
  • Present technical content confidently to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Be a qualified Actuary or near qualified Actuary.
  • Practical experience of actuarial cash flow modelling, including model development for bespoke projects and exercises.
  • Experience in applying actuarial methodologies for setting assumptions.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of defined benefit pensions, including modelling of GMP benefits, franking, and deferred member benefit calculations.
  • Appreciation of financial services companies and their regulatory environment, including Solvency II and Matching Adjustment.
  • Experience of bulk annuity modelling and pricing.
