About the Role

The Senior Director, Cluster Procurement – EMEA is responsible for driving procurement excellence across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This role is critical in delivering the continent’s procurement strategy, advancing sourcing and contracting capabilities, and enhancing financial performance. It acts as a key connector between Procurement and regional operations, ensuring alignment across a matrixed organization and shaping external partnership strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GPO strategy across EMEA, ensuring alignment with continent-wide procurement objectives.
  • Drive sourcing and contracting activities across clusters, optimizing supplier value and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to leverage scale across clusters to maximize savings and performance.
  • Partner closely with Category Management and regional vendor teams to align sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with hotel leaders, owners, and cross-functional teams to drive adoption and compliance of procurement initiatives.
  • Translate procurement strategy into clear cluster-level execution plans, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging new tools, technologies, and innovative approaches.
  • Support rollout of procurement platforms, including Procure-to-Pay optimization and e-procurement adoption.
  • Challenge existing processes and lead transformation efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Partner with regional leadership, Finance, and hotel teams to improve financial performance through procurement optimization.
  • Monitor savings delivery, compliance levels, and supplier performance across clusters.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with owners and stakeholders to support long-term value creation.
  • Support supplier diversity initiatives and ensure alignment with broader procurement strategies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multicultural procurement organization across EMEA.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and capability building.
  • Implement structured training programs to strengthen procurement expertise across teams.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance.
  • Address performance challenges and lead with clarity and confidence to drive results.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance with Marriott policies.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and a performance-driven culture across EMEA.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement or related disciplines.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in large, international, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong track record in cost optimization, supplier management, and procurement strategy execution across multiple markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change across diverse geographies.
