About the Role
The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Plumbing Basics instructor for classes taught in the New York City area.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement lesson plans aligned to the program curriculum and incorporating educational materials.
- Teach content related to basic plumbing skills through a student-centered approach.
- Teach hands-on skills specific to basic plumbing repair and maintenance.
- Implement, adapt, and supplement lesson plans from the curriculum.
- Maintain and submit attendance records.
- Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities.
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of basic plumbing concepts and theory, including repair and maintenance.
- Experience with residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- 5 years of industry experience working in plumbing installation and repair.
- Licensed plumber preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.
- Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption.
- Compliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organization.
