About the Role
Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs and providing advice on financial solutions. Works collaboratively to achieve business objectives and enhance the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify financial solutions and preferred banking channels, recommending tailored solutions for sales and service needs.
- Advise clients on digital and self-serve options to simplify banking.
- Support customer transaction needs based on traffic.
- Engage customers to grow BMO’s business by generating appointments and building community relationships.
- Address questions and resolve issues from consumer credit audits and quality checks to ensure accurate data entry and lending application recommendations.
- Apply the risk management framework to protect the Bank's assets and maintain lending portfolio quality.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, in accordance with Bank policies.
- Collaborate within a branch and market team.
- Probe to understand customer needs and integrate marketing promotions into conversations.
- Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
- Find creative approaches to personalize customer experiences.
- Contribute to the improvement of the overall customer experience.
- Contribute to business results.
- Work at multiple branches or through various channels based on market needs; work schedule may differ.
- Follow risk and compliance processes and policies.
- Stay current with the financial services marketplace, legal and regulatory environment, and ethical requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends.
- Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Protect the Bank's assets.
- Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits, potentially handling escalations.
- Analyze issues and determine next steps.
- Accept broader work or accountabilities as needed.
- Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework.
Requirements
- Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registration to sell investment products completed (Canada only, as appropriate for the jurisdiction).
- Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
- Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
- Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products.
- Experience in financial services is an asset.
- Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, Smart phones, online tools, and applications.
- Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
