About the Role

To work as part of the coaching team within the early youth development phase, delivering the Academy coaching methodology, curriculum, and game model across training and matchdays. Support players with their Individual Development Plans to improve performance and reach their potential for the assigned age group.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assist with elite coaching for the assigned age group within the early YDP, delivering the Academy coaching methodology, curriculum, and game model across training and games.
• Make decisions in the best interest of the club and player development, balancing performance improvement and potential nurturing for long-term development.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team (IDT) to support the holistic development and wellbeing of each individual.
• Form positive relationships with players and their families, motivating them towards achieving their potential.
• Assist with the design and implementation of on-pitch and off-pitch individual development plans for the assigned age group and provide feedback to players.
• Complete assessments and provide IDT notes for the assigned age group.
• Complete all administrative duties regarding planning and data capture.
• Support planning and delivery of analysis provision for individuals and the team.
• Work with recruitment staff and complete trialist assessments.
• Maintain up-to-date records of training and game time on club systems as required by the Premier League.
• Attend relevant CPD events and work with leadership to develop self in line with the Academy coach competency framework.
• Carry out any other duties as directed by senior Academy staff.
• Work to ensure the Academy continually achieves standards required within EPPP guidelines.
• Ensure concerns observed or raised are shared with the safeguarding team through appropriate channels.

Requirements

• UEFA A License
• Advanced Youth Award
• Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
• FA Safeguarding
• Experience of coaching players within the youth development phase within an Academy environment
• Understanding of how to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Understanding of youth development rules and EPPP standards

Skills

• Expertise in delivering age-appropriate coaching for training and matchdays
• Expertise in supporting player development in line with individual development plans (on and off-pitch)
• Understanding of how to provide age-appropriate feedback to players
• Expertise in Talent ID for players within the youth development phase
• Ability to engage parents in their son’s development, utilizing them as a key support network
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work closely with recruitment staff
• Ability to complete all tasks as requested by the Head of Academy Football Development and Assistant Head of Academy Football Development
• Ability to represent the club and self positively with a professional image, ensuring club values are delivered.
