About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and self-starting Advanced Engineer (HGV/PSV Technician level 3) to join our dynamic Engineering team in the bus industry. This role involves working a 4 nights on, 4 nights off shift pattern, offering a significant amount of time off and the opportunity to boost highly competitive wages through voluntary overtime. 5 day shifts are also available.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, repairing and maintaining buses.
- Investigating and diagnosing mechanical and electronic faults.
- Recording faults and repair work using a tablet.
- Following safety instructions and reporting issues.
Requirements
- Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly.
- Ability to work well using own initiative.
- Safety conscious in all actions.
- Good standard of Maths and English.
- Ability to read and understand instructions and service manuals.
- Familiarity with fleet management technical computer systems.
- Good team player.
- Willingness to undertake training as requested by the service manager.
Skills
- NVQ or City and Guilds level 3 qualification for maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles (or equivalent international qualification).
- IRTEC in service maintenance technician, inspection technician and advanced technician (training provided if not held).
- PCV licence (desired but not essential).
- Ability to use fleet management technical computer systems.
