About the Role
Lead our Meetings & Events Sales team at one of London's largest hotels, driving revenue through exceptional customer relationships and operational excellence. Work closely with the Director of Sales to grow existing business, secure new accounts, and ensure seamless event delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the M&E Sales Office team to achieve exceptional results.
- Drive revenue growth across meetings, conferences, events, and group business.
- Manage and develop key client accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Work closely with Operations, Reservations, Revenue, and F&B teams to ensure outstanding event delivery.
- Monitor business levels, forecast revenue, and contribute to budgeting and profit targets.
- Develop sales plans, promotions, and account strategies to maximize market share.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer performance to identify commercial opportunities.
- Ensure Opera Sales & Catering is maintained accurately and departmental standards are consistently met.
- Conduct hotel show rounds, networking events, and client meetings to build long-term relationships.
- Support clients throughout the planning process and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction before, during, and after every event.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Meetings & Events, Conference & Events, or Hotel Sales role, ideally within a four-star or five-star hotel.
- Experience leading or supervising a sales team.
- A proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing revenue.
- Strong account management and business development experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Experience using Opera Sales & Catering or a similar hotel sales system (preferred).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence working independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Flexibility to attend client meetings, networking events, and occasional evening functions when required.
- Experience within a high-volume meetings and events venue (Desirable).
- Existing knowledge of the London corporate, agency or MICE market (Desirable).
- Experience preparing sales forecasts, budgets and business plans (Desirable).
- Understanding of revenue management principles within the hotel industry (Desirable).
