About the Role

The Acquisition & Production Manager role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the central team overseeing the development of global Original Content projects. This role will provide valuable business affairs support and commercial acumen to build the content slate.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business intelligence and support hub for the team, providing commercial rationale to assist in the analysis of new projects and titles going through the greenlight process.
  • Support VPs & EVP in negotiations, including evaluating commercial deals, drafting offer letters, submitting board approvals, and managing internal systems for project greenlight.
  • Manage the financial modelling process, including running P&Ls and advising on financial scenarios and structures.
  • Manage the content catalogue, tracking license expiry dates, liaising with internal teams on deals, and negotiating renewals with licensors.
  • Manage end-to-end invoicing and payment processes with partners.
  • Manage selected projects end-to-end, including external negotiation with manager support.
  • Research and evaluate market trends, providing commercial analysis of content priorities and sectors.
  • Oversee the analysis and review of library titles’ performance and deal structures to support evaluation and propose terms for new projects and renewals.
  • Research and analyze comparable projects, including box office performance, viewing figures, release strategies, and audience trends.
  • Maintain and report on internal databases and trackers.
  • Consistently research and identify new project ideas across all genres.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams on project analysis and financial scenario construction to drive negotiations.
  • Collaborate with content strategy, marketing, PR, royalties, sales, operations, and distribution teams to optimize content positioning and monetization.
  • Support VPs in managing relationships with external partners during negotiations.
  • Attend industry events and shows as required.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion to work with new content and talent, and the ability and enthusiasm to support across all unscripted genres.
  • Competent in Excel, Power Point, Word.
  • A financial and legal understanding of content development and production necessary.
  • Comprehensive experience in financial modelling is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player.
  • Extremely well organized with great attention to detail.
  • Able to think innovatively and handle conflicting business priorities.
  • Analytical mind set with commercial eye and awareness.
  • Results oriented – keeps to deadlines, achievement focused and works well under pressure.
