About the Role

Perform radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine radiological procedures.
• Applies technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality.
• Assists, prepares, and positions patients for radiological procedures.
• Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
• Ensures all radiographic images are appropriately labeled.
• Demonstrates radiographically visible evidence of shielding.
• Employs radiation protection measures and follows departmental protocols.
• Assists with QA/QC program ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
• Assists physician directly during procedures.
• Ensures images are transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.
• Ensures Radiology room and equipment cleanliness.
• Maintains supplies and accessories in imaging room.
• Accurately records patient tracking information and exam notes into Epic Radiant.
• Schedules exams into Epic Radiant.
• Ensures studies are correct and completed in Epic Radiant and PACS.
• Performs related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
• Informs supervisor of needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Prevents the spread of infection by adhering to infection control policies.
• Attends in-services and professional development meetings.
• Maintains licensure specific to job and adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
• Maintains appropriate Continuing Medical Education credits in accordance with the ARRT.

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of New York
• ARRT Certification
• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
