About the Role

The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment, and interventions for designated nursing staff within the Medical Center. This role interfaces with leadership and clinical staff to manage the educational and operational impact on clinical care delivery, staff performance, and outcome measures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees clinical operations, using data to improve processes and outcomes, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff, communicating departmental objectives and managing performance.
  • Develops, maintains, and reconciles departmental budgets.
  • Plans, develops, and maintains departmental standard operating procedures, reviewing and recommending changes as necessary.
  • Coordinates educational and performance improvement activities in conjunction with leadership.
  • Develops action plans to support clinical performance and competency, providing educational resources.
  • Establishes and implements short and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for nursing care delivery.
  • Coordinates and leads daily educational program activities.
  • Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program data to evaluate performance and competence.
  • Provides technical assistance, resources, consultation, and education for orientation, competency assessment, and performance improvement.
  • Serves as a clinical role model and resource to nursing staff.
  • Prepares reports and analysis on new hire orientation, competency, staff performance, and outcome measures.
  • Provides timely status reports on assignments, identifying patterns and trends requiring action.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team on the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring readiness for surveys and presenting during visits.
  • Participates in daily activities reflecting budgetary constraints and incorporates financial principles into program development.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and professional engagement.
  • Participates in the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Masters in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
  • Certification in specialty area preferred.
  • 5 years directly related experience.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse.

  • $115494 - $192328 Annually
