About the Role
This role is on the AI Innovation team within NiCE Labs, focusing on building and validating new AI capabilities through prototypes to inform product decisions. The team operates in fast iteration cycles, spotting emerging capabilities, building prototypes, validating them with metrics, and deciding on their future. The role involves working at the intersection of frontier AI and enterprise products, turning new models and patterns into working systems and providing insights for product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic systems and full-stack prototypes end-to-end, shipping a first version in days and learning from real use.
- Track the frontier (new models, agent patterns, protocols like MCP) and turn promising ones into working prototypes.
- Design experiments to validate concepts based on quality, latency, cost, and user impact.
- Work directly with internal users, product managers, and customers to validate concepts and iterate quickly.
- Turn validated prototypes into reference implementations and write-ups for product teams.
- Provide product and platform teams with concrete feedback on AI capabilities.
- Move between initiatives as priorities shift, leveraging learnings across projects.
Requirements
- 4+ years building full-stack software, with a focus on shipped products.
- Shipped LLM-powered systems to production.
- Understand AI agents below the framework level (message arrays, tool calling, context management, prompt caching).
- Proficient in using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) to increase speed.
- Proficient in full-stack development, comfortable taking a prototype from API to demo UI.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and new territory.
- Prioritize user problems over solutions.
- Experience with TypeScript/Node.js and React stack.
- Strong eye for UX/UI.
- Experience with voice and real-time AI (streaming, speech-to-text/text-to-speech, voice-to-voice models).
- Open-source contributions to agent tooling (MCP servers, harnesses, evals).
- Experience designing evaluations for AI systems.
- Background in conversational AI or customer-experience products.
