About the Role

The Dining Room Food Runner is responsible for the timely delivery of food from the Kitchen to the Dining Rooms, ensuring accuracy and proper serving etiquette. This role also involves general setup and breakdown of work areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prepared dishes from the kitchen to an assigned table using a tray and tray jack.
• Ensure accuracy of orders in terms of quality and quantity before delivery.
• Serve food and beverages according to Mohonk Mountain House standards, serving women and children first.
• Learn which condiments accompany menu items.
• Offer pepper to guests when appropriate.
• Prepare marking trays for dining rooms.
• Adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards.
• Maintain a positive, professional image.
• Speak, read, and write in English and communicate clearly with guests and employees.
• Hear verbal instructions, directions, and warnings.
• Work productively and efficiently with or without supervision on routine tasks.
• Inspect work of others for conformance to cleanliness standards.
• Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, flexing arms, walking stairs/inclines, sitting, climbing ladders, and standing for up to 5 hours.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 100 feet.
• Maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds.
• Wear approved safety shoes and equipment.
• Learn and retain knowledge of Mohonk Mountain House history.
• Learn and demonstrate Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps and Strategies.
• Answer guest questions accurately and engage with guests in a friendly manner.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
• Perform basic mathematical functions.
• Operate vehicles safely in compliance with traffic rules.
