About the Role

JetBrains creates professional tools that make developers more productive. Our websites and web services are a core part of the JetBrains ecosystem, connecting us with users worldwide and powering product distribution, learning, and feedback loops. We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Web Development team, responsible for services end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to deployment and long-term support.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop internal company-wide web applications and services.
  • Participate in the creation of solution architecture, including selecting approaches, decomposing services, and defining interactions.
  • Build and maintain services running in AWS and Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Develop tools and platforms for localization workflows and integrate them with third-party systems.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of our systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams to evolve shared infrastructure and internal platforms.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in backend web development using Kotlin or Java.
  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Solid understanding of modern backend frameworks (e.g., Ktor and Spring).
  • Experience designing and building production-grade systems.
  • Understanding of distributed-system fundamentals (e.g., networking, fault tolerance, and scalability).
  • Experience working with cloud environments (AWS or similar).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
  • Willingness to take ownership of systems in production, including offering support and assisting with continuous improvement.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
