About the Role

ARCO has an exciting opportunity for a Traveling Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have five plus years working as a lead Superintendent on construction projects throughout the US. We are a growing national general contractor with a focus on light industrial, cold storage, office, student housing, and light manufacturing projects throughout the country.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the construction and administrative activities associated with the field operations of a project.
  • Bring the project to completion on schedule, within budget, and per project specifications.
  • Enforce all Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and implement all company policies and regulations.
  • Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information and details for preplanning.
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing a construction schedule, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule efficiently.
  • Assist the project manager/engineer in duties including prompt shipment of materials, obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective performance and integration with project schedules.
  • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports.
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
  • Cooperate with the owner and their representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis.
  • Hold jobsite meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas.

Requirements

  • 5-25 years of experience as a lead superintendent on tilt-up construction projects, preferably on jobs a minimum of 100k sf.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Able to organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and address conflict.
  • Commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes, using customer input, and meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence.

Skills

  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs.
