About the Role

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored sessions using the Compass learning tool, facilitating learning through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching.
• Build meaningful relationships with children in a 1:6 ratio, creating a safe and inspiring environment.
• Support members with the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating their successes.

Requirements

• Confident in leading sessions with small groups (1:6), prioritizing children's safety and wellbeing.
• Comfortable supporting children aged 4-16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
• Committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships.
• Achieved a grade 5 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (predicted grades accepted if results are within 3 months).
• Must be age 16 or over.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required.
• Provide a full employment history with all gaps clearly explained and evidenced where required.

Work Type

• Part-time (at least 6 hours a week over 2 different days)
• Shift start times between 3:30pm and 4pm on weekdays

Salary/Compensations

• Base Hourly Rate: Under 18: £8.40
• 18-20: £10.90
• 21+: £12.75
• Additional 50p per hour for centres inside the M25
• Annual opportunity to increase pay based on hours tutored
