About the Role

Play a key role in the bank’s flagship Transformation Programme, Catalyst, supporting the migration of risk and valuation data onto the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Combine Markets risk and valuation expertise with strong data and technology capabilities to translate complex risk requirements into scalable, compliant data solutions. This role is critical to data strategy, risk integrity, and regulatory compliance throughout Barclays’ cloud and platform modernisation journey, while supporting the adoption of strategic enterprise data capabilities across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze business problems and client requirements that require change within the organization.
  • Develop business requirements to address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Create operational design and process design to ensure proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organization.
  • Advise and influence decision making.
  • Contribute to policy development.
  • Take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
  • Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives.
  • Appraise performance relative to objectives and determine reward outcomes.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments.
  • Identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments.
  • Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects.
  • Identify a combination of cross-functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, requiring an understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organization sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.) to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong Markets experience with a deep understanding of intraday and especially end-of-day risk and valuation.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale regulatory, transformation, or remediation programmes.
  • Experience partnering with Markets, Risk, and Technology teams within financial institutions to deliver risk management capabilities and drive end-to-end change aligned to business objectives.
