About the Role
Support the Government's railway reform agenda by managing the transition of Rail Delivery Group (RDG) into Great British Railways (GBR). This role is critical for effective stakeholder engagement, maintaining delivery momentum, and managing plans, dependencies, risks, and issues within a multi-organisational environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including setting milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure work is completed to the right standard and adapt to project-specific needs.
- Lead and motivate project teams.
- Coordinate with multiple work streams and teams.
- Ensure projects are running on time and to budget.
- Measure project performance and report progress.
- Manage project changes as necessary.
- Ensure project outcomes and benefits are delivered.
- Work within the RDG Project Delivery Framework.
Requirements
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and coordinating with internal functions (QA, service delivery).
- Experience delivering complex technical projects within a recognized delivery lifecycle.
- Experience managing project scope, including benefits management, change control, configuration management, change management, and requirements management.
- Experience with project scheduling (resource and time).
- Project budget and cost control experience.
- Experience managing risk, understanding risk context, and applying risk techniques.
- Experience dealing with external resources, including third-party contracts and procurement.
- Solid understanding of project business cases and ability to translate them into successful delivery.
- Experience in project planning, reporting, and stakeholder management.
- Experience and qualifications in standard project methodologies (e.g., Prince, Agile, Scrum).
