About the Role

This role focuses on developing, implementing, and governing employee retirement plans and benefits programs, providing counsel, and resolving related issues. The position supports the management and delivery of the Bank’s global pension strategy, with a lead role in the governance and design of European and Middle East pension plans. It also involves supporting global pension project activity, scheme design reviews, liability management exercises, and providing technical support for UK projects and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and deliver retirement plans and benefits programs aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Resolve escalated retirement and benefits issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance standards and external regulations.
  • Educate employees and managers on retirement and benefit options.
  • Conduct market research for retirement and benefits strategy, administration, and compliance.
  • Manage external vendors and stakeholders for retirement and benefits services.
  • Provide advice and counsel to employees and leaders on benefits.
  • Oversee and govern all cost elements related to retirement and benefits plans.
  • Forecast, manage, and monitor costs in line with budgets.
  • Advise and influence decision-making.
  • Contribute to policy development.
  • Take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
  • Lead a team, set objectives, coach employees, and appraise performance.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members.
  • Identify the need for specialized expertise to complete assignments.
  • Identify new directions for assignments and projects.
  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to leaders.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk.
