About the Role
CIP Terra Technologies is seeking a Part-Time Commercial Analyst to support the commercial team across its Australian portfolio of renewable energy projects. This role is ideal for a university student seeking practical experience alongside their studies, reporting to the Commercial Director. The position offers exposure to all project lifecycle stages and the opportunity to work on diverse, large-scale renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the commercial development and management of CIPTT's portfolio of renewable energy projects.
- Coordinate inputs across development, technical, engineering, procurement, and commercial workstreams to support project delivery and decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality project reporting, presentations, and governance materials for internal management, investment committees, and other stakeholders.
- Track key project milestones, risks, opportunities, decisions, and action items, maintaining accurate project reporting and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and review of project budgets, schedules, commercial evaluations, and business case materials.
- Support procurement and contracting activities, including maintaining contract registers, tracking obligations, and coordinating stakeholder inputs.
- Support governance processes by preparing meeting materials and documenting outcomes and actions.
- Maintain project data rooms, reporting tools, and document management systems to ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible.
- Support the management of external advisors, consultants, and counterparties by coordinating information requests, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor project performance indicators and prepare concise summaries of project progress, key issues, and recommended actions.
- Work collaboratively across the CIPTT team to identify process improvements and promote consistency in reporting, governance, and project controls across the portfolio.
- Undertake commercial analysis and research to support strategic initiatives, market assessments, and project development activities as required.
Requirements
- Currently completing, or has recently completed, a relevant university degree.
- Prior internship, vacation program, or part-time experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, consulting, engineering, construction, or a related commercial environment.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented.
- Keen to learn with strong communication skills.
- Genuine interest in supporting the development of large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage assigned tasks, and consistently deliver outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- An interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, and the energy transition.
Skills
- Relevant tertiary studies in Commerce, Business, Economics, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Effective organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholder inputs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Demonstrated structured and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key issues and communicate findings effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
