About the Role

This role focuses on delivering targeted early intervention activity to prevent hate crime and harmful radicalization by collaborating with schools, communities, and partner agencies. It aims to build resilience among young people by educating them on hate crime, propaganda, misinformation, and conspiracy narratives. The role also involves identifying and developing opportunities to collaborate with community groups and education settings to deliver tailored campaigns and workshops addressing local risks and emerging issues, thereby supporting safer and more cohesive communities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted early intervention activity that prevents hate crime and harmful radicalization.
  • Work proactively with schools, communities, and partner agencies.
  • Build resilience among young people by helping them understand hate crime, propaganda, misinformation, and conspiracy narratives.
  • Raise awareness, promote critical thinking, and encourage the reporting of hate incidents and crimes.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to collaborate with community groups and education settings.
  • Deliver tailored campaigns, workshops, and awareness sessions addressing local risks and emerging issues.
  • Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and promote inclusive messaging.
  • Ensure early signs of harm are recognised and addressed effectively.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people, schools, or communities.
  • Knowledge of hate crime, community tensions, or safeguarding.
  • Experience of delivering training and workshops.
  • Experience in Prevent, Hate Crime or a community safety roles.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and referral pathways.
  • Ability to identify risk and follow safeguarding processes.
