About the Role

Arcadis is seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Cost & Commercial Management team to support growth within our resilience business for a Global Client in the Water Sector. You will be a Senior Cost Consultant working on water/utilities projects in the Reading and London area, helping to deliver iconic projects and transformational outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of cost management assignments, ensuring delivery standards meet defined objectives.
  • Lead a team alongside the Commission Lead, managing post-contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual changes and payments.
  • Establish professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor, forecast, and report project costs accurately within established financial systems and budgets.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow to ensure timely and correct applications.
  • Collaborate with client and commercial teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives.
  • Provide advice on and manage Risk and Value Management meetings.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate with clients and external stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and identify new business opportunities.
  • Analyze data and documents to provide advice and recommendations for cost and commercial management decision-making.
  • Lead people and commissions as needed.
  • Ensure final accounts are audited, negotiated, and agreed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate self-management and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Possess good knowledge of specialized fields, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting.
  • NEC Contract experience.
  • Ability to support the internal team and manage junior staff on projects typically ranging between £5m and £40m.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues and emerging leadership skills.
  • Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.
