About the Role

As a Senior Specialist Lead (Senior Manager) – Data Architect within our AI & Data team, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strong consulting skills to design, deliver, and optimise complex, large-scale data pipelines and platforms for our clients. You will play a critical role in shaping next-generation, cloud-native data solutions leveraging leading AWS and data/AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to address clients’ complex data challenges across data architecture, platform automation, DevOps best practices, CI/CD, data governance, and advanced analytics.
  • Design and deliver scalable, secure AWS data platforms using services such as Glue, Redshift, Athena, RDS, Lambda, MSK (Kafka), Managed Flink, SageMaker, Airflow, and dbt.
  • Embed DevOps best practices including automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and platform monitoring.
  • Partner with Solution Architects and stakeholders to translate business and platform requirements into fit for purpose technical solutions.
  • Drive automation and platform optimisation to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Build ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and big data technologies across diverse, high volume data sources.
  • Deliver data modelling, analytics, and AI/ML solutions to support batch and real time insights.
  • Support data governance initiatives across data quality, security, testing, and compliance.
  • Apply strong software engineering practices to modern data platform development.
  • Advise clients on data integration, platform, and data quality challenges using best practice approaches.
  • Coach, develop, and inspire your team, setting high standards for delivery excellence and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with practice and alliance leaders to grow capability and shape Deloitte’s data and AI offerings.
  • Drive community initiatives such as technical forums, webinars, hackathons, and contribute to the development of new Deloitte IP and solutions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in large-scale data transformation, solution delivery and project management experience in a professional services environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to adapt to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with a structured project delivery environment will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with designing and building ETL/ELT frameworks using metadata-driven approach, big data processing frameworks such as spark, storm & flink, data pipeline design and development.
  • Experience designing and building real-time streaming data pipelines using Kafka, knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
  • Solid experience with data modelling, data warehouse design and data lake concepts and practices.
  • Experience leading or managing teams and change initiatives.
  • Experience of building production-grade cloud solutions (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, GCP).
  • Must be AWS Certified Solutions Architect (“Associate” minimum, “Professional” preferred).
