About the Role
Supporting the Retail Buyers, you'll play a key role in bringing seasonal ranges to life while helping drive sales, margin and inventory performance across your portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Support the Retail Buyer in developing and executing merchandise strategies across assigned brands and categories.
- Analyse weekly sales and product performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Assist with seasonal range planning, buying plans and order quantification.
- Prepare weekly trade reports, sales reporting, inventory reporting and post-season analysis.
- Manage purchase orders, contracts and product data, ensuring accuracy across all systems.
- Coordinate deliveries and work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure stock arrives on time.
- Maintain accurate buying plans, product hierarchies and inventory records.
- Build strong relationships with brand partners and suppliers to support successful trading outcomes.
- Communicate product updates and key information to stores.
- Visit stores to gain market insights, understand customer trends and gather feedback from retail teams.
- Contribute to ad hoc reporting and cross-functional projects that support the wider Buying team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a buying, merchandise or retail support role.
- Retail experience with a passion for sport, footwear and product.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using AP21 or a similar retail system is highly regarded.
