About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Catastrophe Research Analyst to assist clients in understanding their natural hazard and catastrophe risk exposure. This role involves combining scientific knowledge in natural hazard risk, geospatial and wider data analysis to create valuable insights to improve risk-based decisions.
Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality data and analytics insights to help clients better understand the impact of natural hazards on their business.
- Analysing large and complex data.
- Presenting insights and recommendations to clients across the region.
- Translating technical, scientific data and information into practical insights to support client decisions.
- Working with large and complex spatial data focused on natural hazard risk.
- Using geospatial analysis and interrogating data in SQL and familiar programming languages.
- Presenting insights to a wide range of stakeholders across the region.
- Partnering with global colleagues across Analytics, Risk Advisory and Broking teams to deliver outstanding client outcomes.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent experience in Natural Hazards, Physical Geography, Earth Science, GIS or a related field.
- Strong experience with geospatial analysis.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python would be advantageous.
- Strong communication abilities and the capacity to convert technical details into actionable insights, often to a non-technical audience.
- Strong project management and client engagement capabilities.
- Experience with catastrophe modelling or the wider insurance/reinsurance industry would be advantageous.
