About the Role
Play a pivotal role in strengthening risk across one of Australia's leading wealth platforms. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with senior stakeholders to provide trusted risk advice, strengthen governance and support the business through an exciting period of transformation. You'll combine deep platform expertise with sound judgement and a collaborative approach to help deliver better outcomes for clients, members and advisers.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Line 1 teams to embed Group and Trustee Risk and Compliance Frameworks across the Wrap Platforms business.
- Provide independent Line 2 risk oversight and constructive challenge across the end-to-end Wrap Platforms ecosystem, including Superannuation, IDPS, SMAs, MDAs and adviser oversight.
- Review business plans, policies and Executive, Board and Committee papers, ensuring risk, governance, compliance and conflicts of interest are appropriately considered.
- Assess the effectiveness of controls and processes to strengthen governance, manage regulatory risk and support control excellence.
- Support the management of incidents, breaches and conflicts of interest, contributing informed judgement on regulatory obligations, reportability and appropriate remediation.
- Contribute to incident and breach forums by providing insightful risk advice and helping drive practical, sustainable improvements.
- Foster a strong risk culture by encouraging curiosity, constructive challenge and continuous improvement across the business.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law or a related discipline.
- Strong experience within the Australian wealth management industry, with deep knowledge of Wrap Platforms, Superannuation, IDPS, SMAs, MDAs and the broader platform ecosystem.
- A sound understanding of platform provider obligations, trustee obligations and the regulatory environment governing wealth management and superannuation.
- Extensive experience in Operational Risk, Compliance or Enterprise Risk, with a proven ability to provide independent Line 2 oversight and constructive challenge.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatory obligations and risk management practices, with experience uplifting controls and improving risk maturity.
- A naturally curious and analytical mindset, with the confidence to ask insightful questions, influence decision-making and challenge constructively.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business, Risk and Executive teams.
- Experience working within complex organisations undergoing transformation, providing commercially pragmatic risk advice that enables change while maintaining strong governance.
