About the Role

The Retail Portfolio Program Senior Specialist shapes how Telstra Retail plans, prioritises and manages its portfolio at scale, acting as a strategic planning, performance and decision‑enablement engine for the Retail Leadership Team. The role ensures Retail’s strategy, priorities, and performance are aligned, well-understood, and set up for success, providing leaders with a clear, integrated view of key initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the strategic direction of Telstra Retail, ensuring relevance and alignment with Telstra Consumer strategic objectives.
  • Drive planning and performance rhythms to maintain focus on key priorities.
  • Bring alignment, clarity, and momentum to strategic and business decision-making.
  • Embed structured planning cycles, governance, and prioritisation frameworks.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional programs and planning activities to enable informed leadership decisions.
  • Partner with the Retail Leadership Team to shape Telstra Retail’s strategy and ensure plans deliver customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Lead annual and quarterly Retail planning and prioritisation processes.
  • Deliver high-quality Retail planning artefacts, including multi-year game plans and strategic roadmaps.
  • Own Retail OKRs, benefits tracking, and program performance reporting.
  • Design and run the Retail program operating rhythm and governance cadence.
  • Provide strategic program management for cross-Retail and/or cross-organisation programs.

  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations.
  • Proactive, outcome-focused approach with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across teams.
  • Experience in planning, program, and portfolio management in complex environments.
  • Strong planning, governance, and execution capability.
  • Skilled in facilitation, negotiation, and driving alignment.
  • Familiarity with governance, reporting, and financial management principles.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, program management, project management or a related discipline are desirable.
  • Equivalent experience in corporate planning and performance management within a large or complex organization and/or in a telecommunications or retail operations context will also be highly regarded.
