About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance Division within the Reporting and Control team. The primary focus of this role is to undertake a range of accounting tasks including preparing and processing journals, completing account reconciliations, reporting financial information, and providing administrative support to the finance team. The role is responsible for ensuring allocated month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. This role collaborates with Group Financial Accountants and assists Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers in ensuring the Bank meets its management and statutory reporting deadlines. This is a 12-month maximum term contract.

  • Preparing and processing journals
  • Completion of account reconciliations
  • Reporting financial information
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team
  • Ensuring allocated month-end tasks are completed
  • Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed
  • Ensuring financial reporting activities are completed
  • Collaborating with Group Financial Accountants
  • Assisting Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers

Requirements

  • Experience working with accounting systems is essential
  • Understanding and experience of financial reporting and management accounting
  • Exposure to general ledger and the month-end closure process including reconciliations and substantiation
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience in creditors reconciliations
  • Ability to work directly with other Financial Accounting staff
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision from management
  • Background screening is a condition of employment
