About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist at Key Health, you will be the first point of contact for patients and an important part of the care journey. You will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while delivering a welcoming and professional experience for every patient. There are opportunities to work across multiple sites for training, development, and professional growth. Our permanent Medical Receptionists are given opportunities to work towards Senior Medical Receptionist or Management roles.
Responsibilities
- Providing friendly and professional customer service to patients, doctors, and the wider clinical team
- Answering phone calls, managing enquiries, and booking appointments
- Patient check-in, processing payments, and handling front desk operations
- General administration including filing, emailing, faxing, and correspondence
- Supporting doctors, nurses, and practice staff with daily administrative needs
- Working closely with the reception team and Practice Manager to complete daily tasks accurately and on time
- Following practice procedures for patient results, recalls, and clinical administration
- Assisting with patient triage and escalation of urgent matters where required
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception and clinic environment
- Ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with the Privacy Act 1988
- Supporting additional tasks as directed by management or practice principals
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical reception or administrative role (preferred)
- Strong customer service skills and a patient-focused approach
- Confident using Microsoft Windows, HotDoc, and general office systems
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
- Calm, professional communication style, especially in busy or high-pressure moments
