About the Role

As a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation PA at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, you will provide comprehensive inpatient care for patients admitted to the rehabilitation unit while supporting cross-coverage needs across various inpatient medicine services. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, teamwork, and flexibility to transition across service lines, patient populations, and coverage models. The PA will work closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to support safe, coordinated, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care for patients admitted to the rehabilitation unit.
  • Support cross-coverage needs across various inpatient medicine services, including PM&R, Med-Psych, Inpatient 7s, and other medicine-based units.
  • Manage admissions, daily progress notes, and discharges.
  • Engage in care coordination and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Respond to acute clinical emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Physician Assistant related studies
  • NYS PA Licensure
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • ACLS/BLS
  • NYS Infection Control certification
  • DEA and NYS Opioid Prescriber Training Certification
  • Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
